Safer products, cleaner cities!
The Interreg Project “NonHazCity” (3/2016 – 2/2019) aimed to demonstrate possibilities to reduce emissions of hazardous substances to the Baltic Sea. The main focus was on emissions from small scale emitters in urban areas that cannot be controlled by traditional water treatment and enforcement techniques: private households, municipal entities, and businesses that are connected to the urban wastewater plants. This website presents its findings and publications. It also presents the outputs of the predecessor project “LIFE BaltInfoHaz” (2011-2015) and its campaign “Think before you buy”. Good news: NonHazCity 2nd phase is approved and will start in August 2019 for 18 months!
